The opening event in the new $260,000,000 McLane Stadium at Baylor University is the Traditions Rally. The event will feature a concert by 2012 American Idol winner, Philip Phillips. SMG, who manages NFL stadium such as Soldier Field in Chicago, the New Orleans Superdome, Everbank Stadium in Jacksonville and NGR Stadium home to the Houston Texans, also manages the new Baylor Stadium.
Terraplas USA was contracted by SMG to handle the turf protection for this first stadium event, held only 3 days before the opening kickoff to the 2014 college football season for the 10th ranked Bears. Terracover V, the same product that protects the field in the Georgia Dome was chosen to provide the roadway for the delivery of the production equipment to the stage construction area. Terraplas USA Asset Manager Tony Folley and assistant Shaun Mumphrey managed the installation and removal of the Terracover. Baylor alum and Terraplas USA CEO Mike Beane was also on-site for the grand opening of McLane Stadium.
